Teachers Pay Teachers and Learning Curves

Oy, I am exhausted.  I had a couple of goals for this weekend.  Mainly, I wanted to do the dishes (75% done hehe), and I wanted to start my teachers pay teachers seller account.

First, I decided that I want to make powerpoints to sell.  Then, I made a list of over 300 topics I want to cover.  (I like making lists more than I like working).  Yesterday, I finally sat down for several hours and designed my first power point.  I was somewhat upset to discover that it didn't *load* the way it looked on my computer.  I have spent all night and all morning trying to figure out why.  First, I changed all the cool looking fonts to "boring" true face arial, yawn fonts.  They still didn't look right. Next, I changed the document to "embed" all my fonts, which I thought would work for sure.  Still, they look much smaller on TPT than they do in my own thumbnails on my computer.  I am going crazy trying to fix these bizarre problems now. The whole thing makes me want to shy away from powerpoints.  What's the point (no  pun intended) if I can't make them look cool?

So this morning, I got up and I started playing around with making my own worksheet.  I didn't think I would be able to, but after watching a couple of tutorials on youtube, here is one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg8CKDogtBw

I was able to start playing around.  I first had to buy some cool frames and awesome looking fonts from teacherspayteachers.  I bought them from this place here:  www.frompond.blogspot.com

They have whimsical fonts and borders and graphics oh my.  I just had figure out how to credit them in my work.  I am still figuring out things like "what should I say about copyrights?  And how do I make my own logo, and what do I want my logo to be?   Ack, so many decisions.  I used to be a real pro at Photoshop, but that was 3 computers ago.  I really hate that when you have a computer fizzle out you have to buy your software all over again.  I also hate these new "subscription" pay for the rest of your life programs out too.

So Anyways, I finally made my own TPT worksheet, something that I am going to use in my own class this week.  And here it is:  Click here to see my awesome letter template

I am so so so so proud of it because it wasn't just out of some to do list I made up, it was something that I truly believe will improve a student's life and make classrooms an overall happier place.  And with that, it's time to go finish those dishes!

Thanks for stopping by!
