Welcome to my room!
Hmm Where to start? Well, I'm *that* teacher. The one with toys on her desk.. the one who reads in silly voices.. the one with a class pet.. the one who's having more fun than the kids sometimes... the one who paper maches everything... the one who has a party for *every* holiday including groundhog's day...the one who started Batman club...well, okay you get the point.
I have an active, noisy, colorful classroom. It's full of loud laughs, lectures that sound like conversations with kids teaching me the material, and piles of unorganized papers which I hide in huge buckets. *lol* It's probably most normal people's worst nightmare, but to me it is home.
I'm working on adding a critical thinking corner and a cozy reading nook this year. I'm also changing all my colors from Crazy Reds to Soothing Teals! I can't wait to post pictures to show you more.
Here's My Class Mascot: Batty Batman!
My classroom mascot is Batty Batman. He's a little off, sports a frohawk and makes a lot of silly mistakes in math! He even has his own facebook page that you can find right here: Batty Batman Facebook Page
Here's my class pet: Trogdor!
He's actually very cute and quite moody. I named him after a burninating dragon I loved on HomeStarRunner.com
Bearded dragons make wonderful class pets! They are very easy to take care of.. Message me if you're ever interested in learning more about them! I've also been able to ditch my behavior management system in order for earning "Trogdor" time. He's been the biggest blessing!
Well there you go! If you were to walk in to my classroom on the average day, you would see me acting a little silly- like reading in funny voices or hopping all over the place... and you would see kids working on a variety of projects. I do almost all small group work, and I love it when kids have a final project to present to me!
I hide papers in buckets and bins too!
ReplyDeleteI never hang around my desk either and I have to work hard to make sure a tornado does not look like it hit it. My focus is on the kids and not a perfectly clean room.
