I think this is a good goal for every teacher. It may sound silly, but I set a few daily goals for myself. I find that I'm always failing at weekly and monthly goals, but sometimes I make tiny steps in a day.
cleared off my desk (it was so messy before, that I wasn't sure what the desk was made of)
gave a late birthday card to a student (his birthday fell on a holiday)
brought supplies for a new class pet to school (this included 50lbs of sand.. and I'm super lazy, so this was a huge feat for me!)
did not forget recess duty
checked on a friend
sharpened new pencils (my pencil sharpener is evil and has a mind of his own)
um um um...
Planned Friday's tests on Thursday (instead of my usual Friday morning scramble!)
I've always felt like the things that *normal* people get done on a daily basis are the things that I need to set goals for and celebrate when I actually do them. Such things include: getting my clothes ready the night before work, making myself a lunch, doing dishes, stopping to buy toilet paper at a store, checking on *bills* (just to say hi mostly). These are the grown up things that my dead 20 year old self is still resisting.
I'm up past my bedtime, Good night!
