I started saving things from my 2nd year of teaching. I can't explain how much a nice note or a journal entry about how you are someone's favorite teacher will help you through the bad days. You must always focus on the positive in this difficult profession. Oftentimes it is the little things that will help you do so!
I also save good reviews from bosses, nice notes from coworkers, meaningful cards, art, drawings, and happy notes from parents. Some people keep a file folder of these gems, but I like having a happy little box!
